The Can - The can made its debut in Japan in 1984. The shape of the can is inspired by a tumbler glass. The can was called "Kappu Nama." Kappu means "cup" and "nama" means “draft.” The can originally had a removable top to offer the experience of drinking draft beer out of a tumbler. Over the years, the can has had several different looks, but the basic size and shape have remained untouched.
