Another classy vintage from Amisfield. Delicate florals on the nose with mineral purity, matched with toasted brioche on the palate from the time on lees during tirage. A lower dosage balances with the fresh acidity, making it a perfect aperitif style of sparkling wine.

"Complex and quite elegant, there’s a core nutty quality leading to aromas of fresh citrus and stone fruit scents. The lees autolysis suggest fresh baked goods carrying a mineral quality. A full and richly textured wine on the palate with a volumous mousse that is persistent with a fine bubble. The finish is equally impressive with flavours that mirror the bouquet along with the touch of spice. Fresh, balanced and well made. A wine to drink now or continue to cellar. The growing season returned to the mean after 2018’s unprecedented heat. Vines flourished with rain falling through the season. Early shoot thinning ensured balanced growth and healthy bunches with good fruit concentration. Numerous cold snaps during harvest meant there was a diligent need for frost fighting at day break.

Amisfield was established in 1988, a Central Otago based specialist producer of Pinot Noir and aromatic white wines created from fruit grown on the estate vineyard beneath the Pisa Mountain range in the Cromwell Basin. This privately owned company's 200ha property, once a prominent high country Merino station, is one of the largest single vineyard estates in the Central Otago region. Over 80ha is currently planted with the majority of the vines being over ten years old. A state-of-the-art purpose built winery is the focal point of the vineyard and produces 20,000-30,000 cases of wine annually. Pinot Noir accounts for over 60% of the production with the balance made up of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Riesling.
