This is a soft, supple-textured, medium bodied Syrah. The palate is rounded with gently rich and softly mouthfilling flavours of blackberries along with savoury boysenberry, black pepper, dark herb and mineral elements. The wine flows smoothly to a light finish of black fruits, pepper and herbs.

A superb Syrah from the smallest vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels. After making their first release in 2015, this label from a small family grower has already made its mark as delivering exceptional quality and authenticity.
Element is a new and very stylish boutique range that is grown on the Gimblett Gravels of Hawkes Bay. "Element Wines is the label of Dominic and Rachelle Smith who own a 4.2 ha site on Mere Road in the Gimblett Gravels with 2.66 ha of vines. They have Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Viognier, the first vines planted in 2004. Their intention is to make wines that showcase varietal purity. The Smiths are hands-on with all aspects of the viticulture and winemaking, and employ open top fermenters and basket presses at a local winemaking facility.
