After a two year mission to forage the landscapes of NZ for aromatic native plants that best compliment a classic dry gin, Chris and Stew settled on 3 native NZ botanicals; kawakawa, manuka, horopito and 10 traditional botanicals.
When brothers Stew and Chris Reid started Reid & Reid distillery, they decided to put their uniquely refined knowledge of engineering and beverage production to better use, so they got work challenging the perception of what a classic gin should be, and introducing gin-lovers like you to the quirky, unexpected flavours that only native New Zealand flora can offer in a spirit.
After 2 years of determined foraging through the native New Zealand bush for the most curious combinations of flavours, the pair set up shop in the Martinborough wine district with their custom-made 200 litre copper pot (and some quintessentially-Kiwi determination) to create unparalleled blends of native botanicals, rich red wines and uniquely Martinborough flavoured gin in every bottle.
