"Deeply rooted in the past but looking to the future - We are the perfect embodiment of a history rooted in the past but focused on the future. We are actually a young company, founded in 2008 as an offshoot of Collis Veneto Wine Group, a leading cooperative consortium at national level, with the aim of marketing and selling the wine produced with the grapes of our 2,000 members, both in Italy and worldwide throughout the hospitality industry and large-scale retail trade. A winning choice that has enabled us to distribute wines embodying high-quality Veneto production under six different brands.
Values - The cooperative spirit that we live by in the company has instilled simple but fundamental values in us, that are shared by every resource employed in the company. Energy, that of a young team motivated to achieve new goals, a sense of family belonging, in the willingness to help each other, collaborate and share, territoriality, due to the heartfelt link with origins that are rooted in the land, sustainability, a commitment that is not limited to promises but to specific actions in the field of circular economy, compensation and water recovery, simplicity, the result of the Kaizen philosophy followed in the company for many years, which, in a process of continuous improvement, optimises processes and activities.
Chain - 2,000 winegrowers take care of their vineyards, located in 6,000 hectares of wine estates in the provinces of Verona, Vicenza and Padua. Following precise quality protocols developed by the group’s agronomic team, in collaboration with the most representative research bodies in the area, our partners are expertly and constantly guided in their agronomic choices, with the aim of maximising the different grape varieties.
Organic Certification – Cantine Riondo believes in a future built on a sustainable development model based on the principles of safeguarding and enhancing resources and respecting the environment and consumer health. This is why we have chosen to produce a range of organic wines, avoiding the use of chemical fertilisers and systemic pesticides that tend to alter the precious natural balance of soil/plant/climate, and without the use of genetically modified organisms. Organic fertilisers are used to fertilise organically farmed land, and pest control is carried out in advance by strengthening plants with balanced fertilisation and using natural pesticide treatments (copper, sulphur, plant extracts, etc.) or by adopting biological control using living organisms that are antagonistic to pests. Vinification follows strict established protocols. The grapes and wines obtained are certified according to EC Regulation 834/2007.
Sustainability - Economic and environmental sustainability is a primary concern for the Riondo Winery, and every internal procedure is designed to optimise results by avoiding waste, choosing eco-friendly materials, recovering water and heat, and using the sun’s energy. For instance, a large photovoltaic panel installation supplements our energy needs, the osmosis system recovers process water for new use, and the principles of circular economy that we have undertaken guarantee the recovery of the plastic backings of label reels Rafcycle di UPM) initiative) and waste cork that is destined for use in soundproofing panels or furniture components (Tappo Etico initiative) and waste cork that is destined for use in soundproofing panels or furniture components (Tappo Etico by Amorim Cork). We are also committed to reducing packaging waste, using ever more environmentally friendly packaging and lighter bottles that ensure perfect preservation of the wine."
