This gorgeous, crisp, refreshing Santa Marta Limoncello is slightly cloudy opaque yellow in appearance. Good clean lemon zest nose with a hint of white pepper. Syrupy but not sickly-sweet palate with balance provided by fresh, zesty lemon zest notes. Lemon zest notes last throughout the long silky finish which again is well balanced by citrus acidity.

Santa Marta Limoncello is produced by the Francoli family distillery in Northern Italy using Sicilian lemons. Santa Marta Limoncello is made in the traditional Italian way using 100% natural flavours, with no artificial colouring and produced by the only carbon neutral distillery in Europe.

Italy is the world’s largest producer of lemons, so in true Italian fashion, Italians have developed a delicious way to use the plentiful fruit. Limoncello is a traditional Italian lemon liqueur made with lemon zest, (peels without the pith) steeped in grain alcohol until the oil is released. The result is a luxurious yellow liquid that is further mixed with a simple syrup to balance in sweetness.

The Francoli family began distilling in 1875 in the village of Campodolcino in the mountains above Lake Como.

They founded their distillery in Piemonte in 1951. Over the years, by creating new companies and acquiring existing ones, they formed the Francoli Group (Gruppo Francoli)

Today, Gruppo Francoli is an active producer and distributor of grappa, liqueurs, distillates, wines, dried ham (prosciutto) and electrical energy.

Respecting and safeguarding the environment has always been of fundamental importance to the Francoli family. Distillerie Francoli was the first grappa distillery to officially have Zero Impact on the environment.
