In 2017, while sitting on beautiful Onetangi Beach, three friends - Dave, Mike and Mark - decided to make a beer, but not just any beer. This was going to be a drink that would be ‘unmistakably from the closest place to Heaven on earth’, and one that reflected the Waiheke Island style. One that made you think of slow summer afternoons and clear blue waters just by drinking it.

Heke Lager is everything a Kiwi beer should be – simple, refreshing and reminiscent of summer on the beach. Designed to be thirst-quenching enough to enjoy on a hot day, it’s also ‘hoppy enough to keep it interesting’.
Brewed using pure sparkling water from the island, natural yeast and all-grain malt, Heke has a fresh, rounded palate and a crisp finish. It’s bright, but not too light, and with more than enough aroma and flavour to keep you coming back. Premium ingredients make the best beer. Heaven.
