When brothers Stew and Chris Reid started Reid & Reid distillery, they decided to put their
uniquely refined knowledge of engineering and beverage production to better use, so they
got work challenging the perception of what a classic gin should be, and introducing gin-
lovers like you to the quirky, unexpected flavours that only native New Zealand flora can
offer in a spirit.
After 2 years of determined foraging through the native New Zealand bush for the most
curious combinations of flavours, the pair set up shop in the Martinborough wine district with
their custom-made 200 litre copper pot (and some quintessentially-Kiwi determination) to
create unparalleled blends of native botanicals, rich red wines and uniquely Martinborough
flavoured gin in every bottle.

Not only do they experiment and challenge the norm, Reid & Reid get people excited to try
new flavours of gin and deliver vibrant, aromatic tasting notes that you will struggle to find
anywhere else. Mixing classic gin botanicals like juniper, cardamom and fresh orange zest
with definitively Kiwi botanicals like kawakawa, manuka and horopito, they create unique and
surprising blends that scream quality. Alongside unique aging in pinot noir French oak
cases, Reid & Reid offer unmistakably “Martinborough” flavours that not only reflect the
region that they are produced in but also challenge what a modern gin can be.
