Feudi Bizantini Winery
Feudi Bizantini is a young project founded by a group of wine lovers whom have joined their efforts to take the best from a set of factors linked to the climate, the territory typologies, the grapes and the human work that make Crecchio a unique land in the world wine atlas. The winery’s dedication to Abruzzo’s viticultural past, to innovation, and to research has resulted in superior wines that have elevated this important winegrowing area to world class status.
The winery in located in the historical Byzantine town of Crecchio where a medieval castle dominates the hills where the centre of the village lies. The vineyards are situated among the hills in the provinces of Chieti in the region of Abruzzo while the beautiful modern winery is located in the town of Crecchio. The unique position of the vineyards allows them to benefit from the sea and mountain breezes, producing wines that are full in body and truly represent the characteristics of the region. The vineyards have thin soils, very rich in limestone, with a light base of clay and sand. The proximity to the Gran Sasso mountain range, and the altitude of the estate itself, create wide fluctuations in temperature between day and night. The grapes that are grown here take advantage of constant cool breezes which ensure good ventilation and minimize humidity, ideal for the development of fine aromas. The geographic and climatic peculiarities of this area are reflected in the wines, which are characterized by the trademarks of fully mature fruit: fresh elegant perfume and aromatic complexity.

The winery, located in central Italy’s Abruzzo region, has received international acclaim for its preservation of ancient varieties and its innovative winemaking practices. The aim of Feudi Bizantini is to make its work the faithful expression of the traditions related to the territory it was named after, through a moderate, non-invasive use of modern vinification technologies.
Among the autochthonous vine varieties the company tries to enhance, besides Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, button-hole of Feudi Bizantini’s production, there are Trebbiano D’Abruzzo, Pecorino, Cococciola, Cerasuolo D’Abruzzo. innovative blends with international varieties of the TERRE DEI RUMI range.
