Silky, smooth and tropical, from mixing to sipping, an extremely versatile rum. On the nose, voluptuous and intense. Notes of ripe banana, allspice, dried orange zest, baked apple. On the palate, persistent and pleasant notes of ginger, vanilla, dark chocolate and coffee bean, resin and praline. The finish, lingering and enticing with waxy notes.

Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling rum for almost three centuries in the Trelawny Parish, historically known as the grand cru of Jamaican rum. In 2009, Hampden Estate started to age its Pure Single Rums, opening a new era in the world of spirits. Produced with unique and partly secret methods that have remained unchanged since the 18th century, Hampden Estate rum has a distinct and iconic aromatic profile. This is in great part due to an extremely high level of esters achieved by a very long, complex process. The rum has been aged for 8 years in the tropical Jamaican climate, equivalent to almost 25 years of maturation in the European climate. Excellent for sipping and mixology.

Nestled in Trelawny Parish in the north-west of Jamaica, Hampden Estate is one of the oldest sugar estates on the island. It is the only distillery in Jamaica that specialises exclusively in crafting rich, heavy pot still rums. Celebrated for these intensely flavourful rums, Hampden Estate remains the quintessential choice for heavy pot rum enthusiasts across Europe.
Dating back to 1753, the estate began its journey as a sugar plantation and has faithfully preserved its traditional production methods over the past two centuries. These methods include using its own spring water, allowing prolonged fermentation with wild yeasts, tropical ageing, and avoiding any added colourants or sugar. Distillation is done exclusively in pot stills, ensuring the distinct character of Hampden rums.
For many years, the only way to acquire aged rum from Hampden Estate, unblended with other rums, was through independent bottlers. However, in a much-anticipated development in 2018, Hampden Estate began releasing rum under its own name. Master Distiller Vivian Wisdom introduced the first aged distillery releases in 265 years, celebrating the unique heritage of Jamaican rum production and the essence of Hampden Estate itself.
