A luminous lemon-straw wine bursting with complexity. Aromas of peach, wax, pineapple, nettle and wildflowers rise from the glass, unfolding into hints of lemon oil and lees-derived savouriness. The palate is plush yet energised — a weave of honeysuckle, guava, grilled citrus, apple and subtle herb. Wild ferment character, fine fruit tannins and bright acidity create a long, salivating finish.

Craftsmanship & Story

Pegasus Bay, founded by the pioneering Donaldson family, is one of North Canterbury’s most revered estates. Protected by the Teviotdale Range and rooted in the famed Glasnevin Gravels, the vineyard enjoys warm days and some of the region’s coolest nights — ideal for long, flavour-building ripening. Old, own-rooted vines, natural ferments and minimal intervention define the estate’s philosophy, delivering wines of purity, depth and unmistakable personality.

Special Features

This reserve bottling blends hand-picked Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, harvested in multiple passes for optimal flavour development. Components were fermented separately — Sauvignon largely in stainless steel, Semillon in oak puncheons — before ageing on lees for ten months. A portion of whole-bunch, skin-fermented Sauvignon matured 200 days on skins adds texture, exotic aromatics and wild complexity.
